What we did

H&R Steel detailed 9,000 tons of structural steel for the new UPMC Presbyterian Hospital Tower in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Rising 17 stories and spanning 900,000 square feet, the tower features an iconic architectural design that reshapes the Oakland skyline. Our scope included detailing, fabrication, and delivery of the steel systems that frame the tower’s patient care areas, staff facilities, and integrated technology spaces.

The project required precise coordination with architects, engineers, and contractors to meet demanding healthcare standards for safety, flexibility, and long-term performance. Structural steel was critical in creating wide spans, efficient floor layouts, and adaptable infrastructure to support advanced medical technologies. Through strict quality control, advanced modeling, and on-time delivery, H&R Steel helped bring to life a landmark healthcare facility designed to elevate patient care, staff efficiency, and community impact.

"We’ve worked with H&R Steel Detailing on both small and large projects, and they’ve consistently delivered accurate, high-quality drawings on schedule. They’re well-organized, communicate clearly, and are proactive in resolving issues before they reach the field. They are a reliable and professional detailer we trust."
