Iowa State Football Stadium Expansion
What we did
H&R Steel detailed 3,120 tons of structural steel to the Iowa State University football stadium expansion in Ames, Iowa. Our work focused on detailing, modeling, and providing fabricaiton and erection drawings, and delivering the steel systems that underpin the project’s major upgrades. This included supporting the massive ramps, tied into precast concrete retaining walls, that now allow smoother concourse access for 60,000 fans.
We also did the steel detailing for permanent band bleachers, patio club seating, and reinforced hillside adjustments that improve sightlines throughout the venue. Coordination with architects, engineers, and contractors ensured every element was fabricated to precise standards and delivered on time. Through advanced modeling, quality checks, and responsive project management, H&R Steel helped create a durable, modernized structure that elevates the game day experience.
